Details: Experience: 5 Overview: We are looking for take-charge professionals to help us envision, design, and develop public-facing web applications for our US Government agency client. We need software professionals with at least five years of focused experience working in application development who know how to work in teams, manage client engagements, drive projects to conclusion, and take ownership of the process. We enjoy collegial relationships within our own team and with the many players on other contractor teams and in our client's organization. Responsibilities: Work with internal experts and senior client staff to develop formal customer requirements, project planning, system design, and end-user documents in an iterative development environment Gather requirements and communicate/translate them to developers, testers, and back to the clientConduct business process analysis and re-engineer the process through the life of the projectDefine risks, assumptions, and uncertainties as part of an overall risk assessment for new and existing systemsPrepare status and project reports for internal and external audiencesTranslate business strategies, customer expectations, and requirements into detailed narratives, specifications, flowcharts, and testable statements Serve as project manager, coordinator, expeditor, or liaison with testers, developers, customers and other staff and users during all phases of software development to ensure timely results Participate on scrum teams to develop application software Qualifications: At least 5 years successful experience as a business analyst and/or developer on software development projects with progressive leadership rolesExperience in the complete software life cycle from project inception through operational support, preferably in an iterative development environment Bachelor's degree required - computer-related field preferred Experience with large-scale databases, SQL, and Web-based applications is required (we operate in JAVA, Unix, Sybase and Oracle environments)Advanced skills with MS Office tools including Visio or equivalent Detail-oriented, goal driven, and self-managing personality with proven leadership and teaching skillsExcellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are a must Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferredExperience with CMMI and in the Federal Government environment also helpful This position is located in a Metro-accessible DC location.
